COD GOBLET

The unofficial Decorous Garth Debut CD

So join us in what may be this group's "Pet Sounds"
---
a daring departure from a mainstream pop band.

From the liner notes of: cod goblet

Rarely has a band of Japanese teens attracted the world's attention the way Decorous Garth has.
Was it only two years ago that they burst upon our conciousness with the ultra-sweet pop confection, "It's My Left Hand Baby"? Many things have gone down since. There were five, and now they are four. With the untimely death of Posh Garth, they retreated to the island studio compound to work on "something universal and, you know, timeless?" as Sporty Garth phrased it.
Citing influences as diverse as the Kink's "Arthur" and the Unabomber's manifesto, they created a character from a culture alien to theirs, but who speaks to us all. He's an American, old and alone in some mountain cabin, keeping to the old ways while being bombarded by mass culture from all sides. But when you get down to it, isn't his plight the plight of everyone?

Warning: "cod goblet" is an anagram of "bootleg cd".  So beware -- the original artist(s) had no say in the selections, the editing, the album name or even the track titles!  All data on the liner notes may be false, including the artist(s) name(s).  Oh, and the fidelity of some of the tracks could be better ...
